Claudia is the bridge between two times: past and present.
Between two disciplines: poetry and art.
Between two kinds of knowledge: ancestral and contemporary.
All these elements meet and complement each other in the moment Claudia begins to weave

Expression Squared
When art meets poetry, we have the best of both worlds; poetry adds the mindset, the analytical eye, the observer’s distance to the formula.
While art brings sensitivity, materialness and an instinctive pulse.
“If I had to define my work, I would have to say it’s a job that is born from writing and sculpting. I feel that my work tells a story”
A little from here, a little from there…
Claudia works with caranday, a humble and fragile material that, ironically, still withstands seasonal fires and intensive agriculture.
Its fiber is as strong as it is flexible, and weaving it requires no tools, which doesn't stop the creative and technical possibilities from being endless.
She works with the earliest weaving method ever developed: coil weaving.
